One of the regions more famous attractions (due to a famous television show being shot there) the Albert Dock is a vision of the past with its focus predominantly on the future. The original dock was but in the 19th century and was opened in 1846 Prince Albert. It closed in 1972 due to lack of sea traffic demand and hence was left to deteriorate.

It was brilliantly restored in 1984 and now is today's largest Grade 1 listed building in the UK. The complex itself is mixture of shops, cafes, offices, television studios and bars, as well as being home to some of Merseyside's best attractions - these will be discussed in detail independently.
With its mass of attractions actually living inside this complex, the Albert Dock is without a doubt the number 1 attraction in the North West today - 6 million visitors a year can't be wrong!
