Foundation for Art and Creative Technology

The Foundation of Art and Creative Technology (FACT) was opened in 2003 with the express purpose of building new media in Liverpool. It is now one of the leading media arts centres in the UK.
FACT runs a unique programme of events, exhibitions, film screenings and participant-led arts projects that allow people to use new media as a creative and inspirational tool. Over the course of its existence, FACT has enabled over 3000 people from all walks of life to participate in exciting creative opportunities. Creative opportunities include; writing, performing, researching, filmmaking roles and educator roles. The team behind FACT are constantly on the lookout for new opportunities to create projects which benefit the city.

The space includes 4 films screens which show a mixture of local, national and international films. One of the cinema screens, The Box, is kitted out with plush velour sofa to allow visitors to enjoy screenings in extra comfort. Many of the films that are shown at FACT will be followed up by Q and A sessions which give viewers the opportunity to talk to people who were involved with that film. Other amenities at the centre include a café and bar area so that guests can take refreshments.
